New Yarns to US and the Erl ~ to be continued...

All of these yarns were bought at our local yarn store.  It is always fun to check out the yarns at any local yarn store! We do have one more to share, but the sock pair has not been completed yet, so to be continued at a later date.  Look for the picture of MrB's Brown Sheep socks next!

New Yarns to Us and the Erl ~ #3 Lorna's Laces

The third yarn is Lorna's Laces.  This yarn too feels very soft.
I can't wait to see how MrB likes the feel of these socks on his feet.  The label says it is hand-dyed yarn. This particular colourway is called, Christmas at Downton.
The stripes are unique and thin.  I really like the striping and the shades of this pair.  The yarn is #1, super fine.  The yarn is Solemate, 55% Superwash Merino Wool, 15% Nylon, and 30% Outlast* viscose.  Although the label instructions say it can be machine washed cold and machine dry until damp, I hand washed them and air dried them by the wood fire. I am pretty sure that MrB will enjoy wearing this pair too.

New Yarns to Us and the Erl ~ #2 Lang Yarns -Aktion

This yarn is very similiar in feeling to Opal Yarn once it has been washed in hot water.  Before, it appears very stiff.  We had a little surprise with this ball yarn, that we have never had before.  When MrB unravelled the ball to wind it, out popped a little spool of reinforcement yarn the same colour as the yarn itself.  We thought, oh cool! MrB did use the reinforcement yarn in the heel of his socks.  It will be very interesting to see how the heels wear, as MrB is hard on his socks!  I have taken a picture of the completed sock pair, the little reinforcement spool (what is left) and also what was left of the yarn.  This yarn is a superwash yarn, 75 % wool and 25% nylon.  It was made for Lang and Co in Switzerland.  And if you really like the colour it is, COL 132.0413  PTIE 2115.  The website is

New Yarns to Us and the Erl ~ #1 Zen Yarn Garden

You might remember me posting a
while back, after Christmas about the 4 yarns MrB got for Christmas from me.  I thought he could use a taste of some different yarns.  This one is certainly very yummy.  Zen Yarn Garden, it is 70% superwash merino, 20% cashmere, and 10% nylon. The colourway is called, Plumelle, Serenity 20.  I would like to add also that it is made in Canada.  Here is the website if anyone wants to check it out.
