This yarn is very similiar in feeling to Opal Yarn once it has been washed in hot water. Before, it appears very stiff. We had a little surprise with this ball yarn, that we have never had before. When MrB unravelled the ball to wind it, out popped a little spool of reinforcement yarn the same colour as the yarn itself. We thought, oh cool! MrB did use the reinforcement yarn in the heel of his socks. It will be very interesting to see how the heels wear, as MrB is hard on his socks! I have taken a picture of the completed sock pair, the little reinforcement spool (what is left) and also what was left of the yarn. This yarn is a superwash yarn, 75 % wool and 25% nylon. It was made for Lang and Co in Switzerland. And if you really like the colour it is, COL 132.0413 PTIE 2115. The website is

MrB is the cranker in this venture. He creates hand-cranked knitted wool socks made on our Circular Sock Machine, we call Brigadier 88! It is the #88th Erlbacher Gearhart Knitting Machine newly made. Me, MsB is the cranky assistant (not) :-) that runs the business side of things, networking, doing the sock tags, yarn ordering, kitchener stitching and more. MrB is studious, and is constantly cranking out new pairs of SOCKS Made on 88! Our story and my blog unfolds here... it all began Jan.3, 2012
