One week from today we will be on a large road trip, driving to Ontario! We are headed to a crank-in ( sock school).
Sorry I have not been here much lately. We did 2 shows and a market in September and for us, and wanting some flexibility, October has been shown to be a rather slower month. This past weekend was our Canadian Thanksgiving. This week we will be gearing up and focusing on what to pack to head off for our 23 hour + road trip.
The good thing also for taking this road trip is we get to stop at my son's on the way there and the way home too. He moved to Toronto mid August.
We are hoping for some awesome fall weather, but for precautionary measures I did get the winter tires put on the car for safer travel in case we run into any snow for our trek.
I am very much looking forward to meeting all the CSMers that I talk to online and others too. I know MrB is anxious to see what he can learn and take away from the crank-in room and put to good use in our basement. He catches on quickly so I would imagine there will be lots of new knowledge for him to put to his art of sock making!
We will only be home a day or so and then it will be off to the Historic Market once again, and we are both very much looking forward to our return. Our first run was a good success and it will be time to get back there again and establish a name for ourselves there. The atmosphere there is a good one in which we feel like we fit in and welcomed by the staff and customers also. So will be there, October 27th 7am to 1pm!
Th weather has gotten a little bit chillier in our neck of the woods, and I am so very thankful that I have a draw full of wonderful hand-cranked wool socks I can choose from each day. I love them! If you are looking for an awesome gift, please keep in mind, a nice pair of socks would make a truly wonderful gift for someone special in your life. That's a Christmas gift idea for sure!
Now that I have updated here I must carry on my way and get in motion as I have things I need to attend to. Grabbing a pair of socks for my feet is right on top of the list!
Have a great week everyone!
MsB from Socks Made On 88
(Yes I have changed my signature name slightly, since I changed my rav name this one goes hand and hand with it. Instead of signing msb it is now MsB! No big deal, and I bet none of you even noticed it. But in case you did, here is my story and I am sticking to it! LOL)
MrB is the cranker in this venture. He creates hand-cranked knitted wool socks made on our Circular Sock Machine, we call Brigadier 88! It is the #88th Erlbacher Gearhart Knitting Machine newly made. Me, MsB is the cranky assistant (not) :-) that runs the business side of things, networking, doing the sock tags, yarn ordering, kitchener stitching and more. MrB is studious, and is constantly cranking out new pairs of SOCKS Made on 88! Our story and my blog unfolds here... it all began Jan.3, 2012
