It is a crisp cool Monday morning! The updates have been made. Another week of doing last minute things before we debut at the Historic Farmers Market in Halifax! It will be a very early morning for us with the alarm been set prior to 5 am as we must leave the house close to 5:30am to be at the market for 6am and set up and ready for 7am opening! Here's hoping that we do well for our first showing, as we have signed up to the 4th Saturday for the months of September, October, November and December! Here goes nothing....we are very excited to graduate to a larger market indeed :-) I think we have all our little things attended to and now we just need to focus on selling the socks. The socks pretty much sell themselves if they are in a location where there are people who appreciate the art of knitting, and more so the art of sock cranking! The machine always attracts interested on-lookers no matter what! MrB does a good job explaining the cranking process. When there is at least one sock hanging through the cylinder that's when everyone stops for a big gauk!! I am very excited to see what the outcome will be on Saturday. My anticipation is that we will not be disappointed.
msb from Socks Made On 88
MrB is the cranker in this venture. He creates hand-cranked knitted wool socks made on our Circular Sock Machine, we call Brigadier 88! It is the #88th Erlbacher Gearhart Knitting Machine newly made. Me, MsB is the cranky assistant (not) :-) that runs the business side of things, networking, doing the sock tags, yarn ordering, kitchener stitching and more. MrB is studious, and is constantly cranking out new pairs of SOCKS Made on 88! Our story and my blog unfolds here... it all began Jan.3, 2012
