Pumping up our selection stock of Short Tabbie Socks!

This is a sign of Spring, Easter, Mother's Day, Summer, and Father's Day coming around the corner of our part of the world. As we do not have the nice summery weather all year round.  I hear too that cruise goers really like them also!  Halifax is a popular cruise stop from May to October. These short tabbies are great to wear in your running shoes too for walking, hiking or any adventure you may want to embark. Here are some our latest Short Tabbie Sock pairs that will be added for sale soon, and more to come.  We will have a full compliment stock ready for Mother's Day weekend, with our market stint being that Saturday, May 9, 2015.

Market March 14/15

Not much action today at the Market, but that's ok we had surprise visitors, and they took our picture.  Thanks K & N!

Look for us tomorrow...

at the Historic Farmers' Market, in the Main (Upper) Courtyard beside the vendor of The Biscuit Cutter!

I tried my luck, but need a more definite plan...

A Rag Rug I already have, and I like! It is my inspiration for size

I was able to crank out 11 1/2  i-cord strips to get an idea of what I might want and like for an i-cord rug!

Here are 9 i-cord strips braided into 3 new strips.  This is the effect I want.... now to just come up with a more complete plan!  I need to do more research and see what is available for me to weave them into or onto as a rug.And then be able to also attach them securely  If anyone reading this blog has any ideas to help me out, please email me at: sockson88@gmail.com

Measuring the new strips on the old rug.... they will definitely make a cushiony rug if I can make it work

Pardon Me..its Peekin' Zeke!

Ok I stand corrected!
That little character that sits on top of my monitor, his name is
Peekin' Zeke!  The little guy that has been in my latest pics.

Smile, you're on candid camera!

I love using my little "Freakin Peakin" or is "Peakin Freakin?" I must look that up!  My son gave it to me years ago, and I still have it sitting on my external monitor on my desk.  He has made my pictures very entertaining this week.

This picture was taken to show my new blackboard tags that I purchased to used in my display at the markets.  I really think they are cute and will come in useful as you can write small messages on them.  I am going to try a couple of them out this Saturday at the market.

When setting up for the picture, I thought this would be the perfect place to take the picture.  There is so much in the background.  The Crankin' Cave is kept pretty neat and tidy but this is a corner where there are all sorts of things thriving, and calling out to be used at any given time!  Notice all the flags in the background too.  The USA flag is the one that came with the Erlbacher Gearhart CSM when it arrived in Dec 2011.  And the Canadian Flags are used at the market for Canada Day and I do put them outside here at home on November 11th.

You may also see other items, various cylinders and ribber dials, artificial flowers, a sign in which 88 is visible, rags, and whatever else may have been stuffed in that corner.  All those items have played a part in the story one time or which constantly unfolds in our art of sock making at Socks Made On 88!

Why did I call this post, Smile you are on candid camera?
I have no idea, except for the smilie face that I drew on one tag, and it just seemed to come to thought at the very instant of posting.  Have a great day everyone!

Is Spring here yet?

And if you are interested in having some too, then you can come to the Historic Farmers' Market at Brewery Square, next Saturday, March 14, 2015 7am-1pm, and we will try and hook you up with the most appropriate colour and size to find your needs.  See you there!

It is March 1st today....

and I am really hoping by the time the 14th arrives, that we will not have to bundle up to attend our next market stint!
Can you say I am tired of dressing in many layers?  I am tired of ice! I am tired of the cold temperatures! I want Spring to be on my doorstep soon!
