Just to let you know...

We will be in the Main (Upper) Courtyard tomorrow,
Sat Feb 28, 2015 7am -1pm.  And since it's still very cold and icy it is not rubber boot season yet, but I continue to dream that time will soon be upon us.  In the meantime, enjoy some of these bright coloured sock pairs to brighten your day or feet!

Keep a dreamin' ... Spring will be here soon!

Market Day!

Yesterday at the market, MrB caught me on camera.  I think it was a little bit too cold for him to sit and crank/knit away so he was walking around visiting and wanted to take this photo. He was catching me by surprise while I was inspecting our display and waiting for potential customers.  The picture turned out well and so yes, I wanted to share it on my blog.  As you may notice I am decked out in some red for Valentine's Day.

Gifted to us ~ Ancient Arts Handpainted Yarn!

My son gifted us some Ancient Arts yarn!

This yarn is new to us, but we are very much looking forward to try these beauties (hugs) on our feet.  The Yarn is 100% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 4 ply fingering/sock.  The first 3 colourways that MrB has cranked out are pictured above and the label photo too showing the three colours of Abalone, Scottish Mist and Cranberry Harvest. The label says, nature.inspiration.glorious colours! Yes "Colours" is spelled with a "U", one indication that this company may be in Canada.  I am not positive, but I think it may be based in British Columbia. If you want to read more about Ancient Arts Yarn go to:

ancientartsfibre.com

We will have another selection of this yarn to post at a later date, the colourway being from the Meow Category, so watch for another Ancient Arts Yarn update down the road.

Yarn from Grand Valley Fibre Company, Ontario

Samples of a couple yarns colourway selections produced exclusively by Grand Valley Fibre Company, AVID (Spectacular Yarn From Spectacular Fibre) 50% Alpaca, 30% Merino, 20% Nylon, 3ply sock weight.  A pair for him, MrB and a pair for me!  Going to give them a good wearing test run soon. Special treat for our own feet!

Little ones like to wind too!

Note: picture cropped as not to disclose full photo of Hunter! It is his little hand on the winder that I mostly wanted to show

When my grandson Hunter comes to visit, he knows that he can always turn the crank on the winder.  But he has to be told yes or no for the Circular Sock Machine.  He did manage to go ahead two stitches on MrB's present project that was hung on the machine, but I think that is OK this time!
